There are seasons you go through life wondering if the sun will ever shine again, things fall apart with apparently no remedy. Misgivings darken the way and our faith is shaken, life appear to be a mere existence. We are supposed to have abundant life right! But that is not always the case, life instead appear to be a weary journey with few burst of happiness. You got to find a way out during those weary, trying moments and this is how I do it:

Celebrate Life:

Today is a gift, the fact that I woke up this morning is an amazing gift; good enough to make anyone celebrate. Life is for the living and as long as there’s life there’s hope. Instead of complaining of what I do not have yet, I celebrate life for what I already have! So do not be downcast my soul…the breath in your nostrils is a witness that there’s hope in your latter end.

I do not dwell on the situation:

I strive not to dwell on how bad the situation is. We need to learn to stop confessing how terrible, horrible our situation is, sometimes we just exaggerate , that situation isn’t going to kill you. Truth is it could be worst, so if you are reading this then know you are in a better position than millions of people. The bible talks about our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (2Corinthians 4:17). That situation a light affliction and it is but for a moment. So while in the dark, I wait eagerly for the morning to come. It may seem soooo dark yes, but no matter how dark it gets, the morning eventually comes yay! That should make anyone to jump for joy!

Draw strength from past testimonies

In the face of challenges, it is very easy to forget the victories we have registered in the past.  If He did it before, He will do it again. I take a look at where I am now and I say oh He brought me thus far and in this situation, He is bringing me out. In I Samuel 17:37 “ David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Phi-lis-tine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.”

Moreover in times like this, songs like “He will do it again” by Pastor Shirley Caesar make so much sense to me because I know and I know that the Lord will do it again. So past testimonies should encourage you!

Drop it at the Master’s feet:

It has been proven time and again that relying on myself has never yielded any fruits. I can’t figure this, and that and that out, so what do I do? I dump it at the foot of the cross. I lean on His strength to carry me through, after all only He knows the end of a matter from its beginning.

Act like I received the testimony already:

Ah, several times I try to visualize myself in my glorified state! I practice how I will talk, I act like it already happened and it actually does feel better acting it.

Relax and listen to some soul lifting music:

Wonderful! What is life without music, I can’t exhaust the many testimonies of how music has changed my life. It brings hope, joy and soothes the soul. When life doesn’t add up I find solace in music. I would suggest my playlist for the season oops..I think that will be another post on its own.. Ok I give you one; “Way Maker” by Sinach.

Relax and enjoy, joy  cometh in the morning. Be encouraged!
