Every mother will agree with me that being mama is not an easy task, the reason why it is absolutely important to find ways to unwind at the end of the day.
In a single day, a mom has to fit into several jobs:
In the morning you are a caregiver, your day begins with giving out virtue. Move a little into the day, you become a teacher dishing out lessons that may not be heeded to.
Before noon you have to wear a chef’s apron and whisk up some yummy meal. Now you have to get creative especially if you have picky eaters (God saved me from this one).
Shortly after lunch, you have to be the cleaning lady! Someone has to clean up all the mess, who else does it better than mama! Well well, I think the cleaning is all day long for those mothering toddlers.
Then you become a nurse, making sure they get their vitamins besides having a balanced diet. And in the case of any injuries while playing sometimes the best medication this nurse applies is a magic kiss.
Further into the day, you assume the position of a judge, ruling over the frequent fights between your toddlers. I can’t boast of being a fair judge, 90% of the time I rule in favor of the younger toddler. Deciding who should have what toy and when they should have it is part of the job.
Somewhere within the day, you are a cheerleader. A musician composing spontaneous lyrics!
There are many other roles that I will run out of link if I have to include them in this post.
After having all of that in one day, you need to find a simple way to unwind before waking up to another day:
Therefore you should follow these tips carefully:
- TAKE A WARM BATH:
As soon as I tuck those little humans in bed, I quickly dive into the bathroom and just have some few minutes of me time with a warm bath. This is quite refreshing, it is like washing away the running the sweat of a marathon day, let’s call it moments of refreshing. I will recommend this Deep Steep Bubble Bath, Lavender Chamomile, 17 Ounces
- GRAB A CUPPA:
I have the feeling soon and very soon I will get to tea heaven. Ah I so love my evening routine with a hot cup of tea and a home-made cookie like this one here. Chamomile is a smart choice for the night, although these days I experiment with different concoctions, adding cinnamon here. BE SLEEPY Relaxing Bedtime Tea with Valerian, Kava Root, Chamomile, and Lavender 40g – for Relaxing, Calming the Nervous System, and Promoting a Restful Sleep by Tea Tonic
- WATCH A MOVIE:
I hear someone asking “how is this even possible?” Yes we get so tired at the end of the day, reason why you should unwind with a good yummy (ah movies these days are yummy!) movie. I know it takes time searching through the different channels to get a movie of your taste. Sometimes you are wondering what good thing can come out of the TV these days. Oh there are lots of good things, besides you need a break from all the political drama, wars and rumours of wars. You need something relaxing yet educative to fall back to.
Now get on the sofa, wrap up in the furry blanket, keep your cuppa on that table close by, make sure you are comfortable. Perfect! Let me introduce you to Pureflix! It streams family original movies, series, TV, shorts.

Have you watched the movie War Room? Ah if you haven’t then ma,am you have been missing way too much in this life! Well no worries there’s room to catch up and the time is now!
You know the enemy must have been messing with your stuff because you haven’t kicked his butts out of your business yet. Listen to this quote from this ah-mazing movie:
“I am so sick of you stealing my joy. But that’s changing too. My joy doesn’t come from my friends, it doesn’t come from my job, it doesn’t even come from my husband. My joy is found in Jesus, and just in case you forgot, He has already defeated you. So go back to hell where you belong and leave my family alone!”
Guess who made that declaration and whom she is addressing? Your time to discover…
You need to catch up on the most recent movie, with a similar cast from War Room; God’s Compass.
“On the night Suzanne Waters (Karen Abercrombie) celebrates her retirement, she is faced with a series of crises she could not have imagined. After three years, the Waters family is still struggling with the loss of a devoted husband. Healing comes through a miraculous encounter with a 16-year-old juvenile delinquent that has been running from foster care and the law, in order to stay together with his sister. As Suzanne reflects back on her life of faithfulness, we are reminded that there are no accidents in God’s Kingdom, no chance meetings, and no purposeless steps taken”.
