I sat down last evening on my desk ready to work on recipes for my Christmas series. Then suddenly these words kept ringing in my heart “ Therefore encourage one another with these words…”

Ah, encourage? I was wondering to myself, it is a season to be jolly who needs an encouragement? Honestly, I could not relate the current activity with the screams in my head. “Kewan encourage someone today”. The more I tried hard to ignore and continue with the picture editing, the more the word came; encourage.

In obedience to that push, I am here to encourage you! Yes, you who made it read these words.

We are drawing gradually to the end of 2016. I know and I know that there are some areas where you feel, it would have been great if this or that thing happened this year. Just maybe you were trusting God for a job this year and very soon we will be saying goodbye 2016, no job yet! My dear no worries. God’s got you!

You could be that lady who prayed, fasted and even got a wedding dress in preparation for a 2016 wedding. Yet nothing has manifested in that manner in your life. Do not lose hope, nor doubt God’s faithfulness.

1 Thess 5:24 “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” God is so faithful. The bible says even when we are faithless, He remains faithful. 2Timothy 2:13 “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”

I pray that God will renew your strength as you continuously wait on him. Isaiah 40:31 “ But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

I understand waiting is not an easy process, that is why we need the grace of God to help us in our waiting season. No matter the noisome pestilence you need to tell yourself again and again that God is good and will make all things beautiful in His time. If it hasn’t happened yet, just wait for His time. Can you remember the scripture

” But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman , made under the law…Gal 4:4″

In the fullness of time, God will come true again for you. Wait ye on him!

There is this scripture in Isaiah that I just have to fit it in this post somehow;

Isaiah 50:7 “For the Lord God will help me: therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint(hard rock), and I know that I shall not be ashamed.”

Yes! I may not have the baby yet, I may not have the promotion yet, like Isaiah, I set my face like a flint because God will HELP me. He is a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

It may be that you lost a loved one this year, while others are in a festive mood, you are in anguish if and only that person were alive…, you remember the story of Job? I don’t know of anyone who was afflicted like him in the entire bible. I mean this guy lost everything, like in every possession and was sorely afflicted. But listen to what he said even amidst the challenges:

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him… For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: Job 13:15&19:25.  No wonder his story had a glorious ending Job 42:10 “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave job twice as much as he had before.”

God is still the same today if He did it before, He is more than able to do it again.

Meanwhile, you need to have the assurance that God will come true for you. The bible says in Isaiah 30:18 “…The LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore will He be exalted that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are ALL they that wait for him.”

I leave you with

Habakkuk 3:17.19 “Although the fig tree shall not blossom,, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will REJOICE in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation…”

May the sound of rejoicing be yours in this festive season!

God bless you
